KAC Siphon Upgrading

Background

The project consist of 12 siphons extending from North Shunneh in a distance of 102 Km. the maximum flow discharge is 20 cubic meter/second in the worth and the lowest flow discharge is 2.3 cubic meter/second.
It is required in the upgrading to increase the flow to 25 cubic meter/second in the worth and 7 cubic meter/second in the south.

Objectives

The objective is to upgrade 11 siphons and construct one flume from north shunneh to south shunneh in a distance of 102 Km with flow discharge varies from 25 cubic meter/second to 7 cubic meter/ second .tow of the siphons will be removed and open the trapezoidal canal will be consulted instead. There are 2 bridges for these 2 siphons. These siphons will have pipe additions or rectangular concrete boxes. The new flume is reinforced concrete.

Project description

Upgrade 11 siphons, tow of them will be removed and open trapezoidal canal will be constructed instead. Construct 1 flume. Construct 2 bridges.

Project status

The tender documents and final drawing are ready. Financing has not been secured yet.

Estimated cost

The total estimated cost for the project is JD3.5 million.
