Implementation of Groundwater Protection Areas
A Proposal for a National Guideline for the Delineation of Groundwater Protection Zones was prepared and published.

Delineation of two groundwater protection areas: Wadi al Arab well field, Qunayyah spring. Hydrogeological proposal for the delineation of the ground water protection area for Qunayyah spring has already been prepared and published. Preparation of of Wadi al Arab study is in progress.


Support for municipalities in the implementation of groundwater protection areas and monitoring activities is provided on continous basis.

 

Concepts for Groundwater Pollution Prevention
Groundwater vulnerability maps: Criteria for the preparation of groundwater vulnerability maps was prepared and published. Data for two pilot areas: East of Kerak and Corridor Well Field, Mafraq are currently being collected to preprare vulnerability maps for these areas.

Support of the National Water Master Plan
Comprehensive groundwater flow model for Jordan was prepared and submitted. Groundwater resources of Jordan report has been finalized and submitted.
